Use the Tailwind 4 Vite plugin: Tailwind CSS 4 works through @tailwindcss/vite and a single @import "tailwindcss" in your CSS. Configuration lives in CSS with @theme instead of a JavaScript config file.
Set up class-based dark mode: In Tailwind 4, add @custom-variant dark (&:where(.dark, .dark *)); to your CSS, then toggle a dark class on the html element.
Turn on strict type checking: Keep strict mode on in tsconfig and run vue-tsc in CI. It catches prop and emit type errors that the Vite dev server does not report.
Add only what you need: Add a router, state store or data fetching library when the app actually needs them. A small starter stays easy to upgrade.
